Aksaray Mausoleum

The Aksaray Mausoleum is a rectangular, single-domed structure located thirty meters southeast of the more famous Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum. While the exterior of the building is remarkably plain and unassuming, its interior houses an intricate, gold-adorned ceiling and walls decorated with glazed mosaics. The name translates from Turkic as white palace, a title that stands in stark contrast to the modest, weathered walls visible from the street today.
