Bibi Khanym Mausoleum

The Bibi Khanym Mausoleum is defined by its substantial, weathered blue-tiled dome, a hallmark of the Timurid era in Samarkand. It sits within a complex directly across the road from the massive Bibi Khanym Mosque. While the mosque was built by the ruler Timur between thirteen ninety-nine and fourteen oh five to honor his chief consort, Saray Mulk Khanum, the mausoleum is where she was laid to rest.
