Amir-zadeh Mausoleum

The Amir-zadeh Mausoleum stands within the Shah-i Zinda necropolis, identifiable by its high, pointed ribbed dome and a front portal that sits against the corridor path. Built in thirteen eighty-six, this cubic structure is nestled among a series of historic funerary monuments on the slopes of the Afrasiyab hill. While the identity of the person interred here remains unknown, the name Amir-zadeh suggests the occupant was a person of noble rank, possibly a nephew of Amir Timur.
