Siyob Bozori is identified by the triple-arched entrance covered in blue majolica tiles that faces the nearby Bibi-Khanym Mosque. Spanning more than seven hectares, this site is the largest and oldest marketplace in Samarkand. The name derives from the Siyob River, which flowed past this ground, with the word itself translating from Persian and Tajik as black river or black water.
