À La Mort Subite is a historic café on Rue Montagne-aux-Herbes Potagères, easily identified by an ornate interior featuring weathered mirrors, period chandeliers, and cream-colored pillars that have remained largely unchanged since nineteen twenty-eight. The establishment was designated a protected heritage site in nineteen ninety-eight and continues to be operated by the descendants of its founder, Théophile Vossen.
