European Parliament

The European Parliament in Brussels is a sprawling postmodern complex known as the Espace Léopold, recognizable by its vast oval-shaped Paul-Henri Spaak building and the glass-enclosed footbridges that span the surrounding streets. Built between nineteen eighty-nine and two thousand four, the site serves as the primary location for parliamentary committee meetings and plenary sessions. It occupies the heart of the Leopold Quarter, a district originally designed in eighteen thirty-seven for the city's elite that was later transformed into an institutional hub as the European Union expanded its footprint.
