Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert

landmark

The Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert is defined by its long, arched glass roof, which spans a narrow, light-filled passage lined with Italianate stone facades. Opened in eighteen forty-seven, it was designed by the architect Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar to replace a dense network of dark, cramped alleys. The complex is divided into three wings—the King’s Gallery, the Queen’s Gallery, and the Princes’ Gallery—creating a covered thoroughfare that remains one of the oldest shopping arcades in Europe.
