Galerie Matongé is a covered passage recognized by its vaulted roof made of concrete and glass bricks, which allows natural light to filter down into the walkways. The arcade connects the Chaussée d’Ixelles to the south with the Chaussée de Wavre to the north, forming a rectangular corridor lined with small shops and upper-level offices. Designed by the architect Jean-Florian Collin and completed in nineteen fifty-three, it originally operated under the name Nouvelle Galerie d’Ixelles.
