The Jeruzalemkerk is marked by a distinctive Jerusalem Cross mounted on top of its octagonal tower. Constructed in fourteen twenty-eight, this Gothic structure was commissioned by the brothers Pieter and Jacob Adornes. The family, originally merchants from Genoa, modeled the chapel on the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem after returning from their own pilgrimages to the Holy Land.
