Bryggebroen

landmark

Bryggebroen is a steel swing bridge that stretches one hundred ninety meters across Copenhagen Harbour, linking the districts of Islands Brygge and Havneholmen. When it opened on September fourteenth, two thousand six, it marked the first new bridge built over the harbor in fifty years. Designed by the architecture firm Dissing plus Weitling, the structure features a steel spine and is divided into distinct lanes for cyclists and pedestrians, providing a direct connection between the Vesterbro area and Amager.
