Square Courteline occupies the center of a traffic island where the boulevard de Picpus meets the avenue de Saint-Mandé. You can pick it out by the music kiosk and the stone fountain surrounded by greenery in the middle of the intersection. This small municipal park dates to nineteen twenty-five and stands on the exact site of the former Barrière de Saint-Mandé.
