L'Oeil du Lac, also known as the Maison du Garde, stands out for its distinctive timber-framed facade and a strategic position overlooking the lake at Saint-Mandé. Constructed during the nineteenth century under the direction of the landscape architect Jean-Charles Alphand, this building served as a home for the park warden tasked with monitoring the bois de Vincennes.
