The Église Saint-Louis de Vincennes rises above the street with a hexagonal bell tower standing fifty meters tall, visible against the skyline. It is a landmark of neo-Byzantine design, constructed with walls of meulière stone accented by bands of red brick. Architects Jacques Droz and Joseph Marrast won a competition to design the building in nineteen twelve, intending to create a modern space for worship using reinforced concrete.
