Square Sarah Bernhardt

Square Sarah Bernhardt in the twentieth arrondissement covers over one hectare of land that once held the Saint-Mandé gas works. Opened to the public in nineteen thirty-six, the park occupies a space where the Compagnie Parisienne du Gaz once operated its industrial facilities before they were dismantled in the thirties. Today, the site features roughly two hundred trees of fifty different species, including ginkgo and sequoia, alongside structured flower beds.
