Parc de la Butte-du-Chapeau-Rouge

The Parc de la Butte-du-Chapeau-Rouge is distinguished by a monumental fountain near its main entrance on Boulevard d’Algérie, featuring a central statue named Eve. Designed by architect Léon Azéma and opened in nineteen thirty-nine, the park sits on a hillside that was once a series of gypsum quarries known as the Carrières d’Amérique. Its neoclassical aesthetic, characterized by brick, cement, and pebble-encrusted surfaces, reflects the design trends of the nineteen thirties.
