Hôtel de Ville, Les Lilas

landmark

The Hôtel de Ville of Les Lilas stands on the Rue de Paris as a neoclassical stone building crowned by an octagonal campanile. Designed by the architect Paul Héneux and inaugurated in eighteen eighty-four, the structure features a symmetrical facade with three monumental doors reached by a wide exterior staircase. To honor the flower that gave the town its name, stone lilacs are carved into the capitals of the columns and appear in the ironwork of the staircase and the window frames.
