Regard de la Prise des Eaux du Pré-Saint-Gervais

historic

The Regard de la Prise des Eaux stands as a rectangular stone monument, roughly four and a half meters wide and six meters tall, positioned in the square facing the town hall. Built originally in the Middle Ages, the current structure dates to the reign of Louis XIV. It served as the central junction for a hydraulic network of underground pipes and stone channels designed to collect spring water from the surrounding hills of Romainville and Les Lilas.
