The Pyramide Inversée is a glass and steel structure that hangs downward from a square frame, functioning as a skylight for the underground Carrousel du Louvre shopping center. Designed by architect I. M. Pei and completed in nineteen ninety-three, it serves as the modern, inverted sibling to the museum's famous main entrance pyramid. It sits at the intersection of two primary underground walkways, drawing natural light into the lower levels of the complex.
