The Square du Vert-Galant is a triangular park at the westernmost tip of the Île de la Cité, distinguishable by the way it points downstream into the Seine. Established in eighteen eighty-four, the park sits at a lower elevation than the surrounding streets and is accessed by stairs near the bronze equestrian statue of King Henri the Fourth on the Pont Neuf.
