The Fontaine Louvois stands in the center of a small, quiet square on rue de Richelieu. It is a monumental fountain featuring four female statues that represent four major rivers of France: the Seine, the Loire, the Garonne, and the Saône. These figures support an upper basin, while the base of the monument is decorated with four tritons riding dolphins. Around the rim of the large marble basin, twelve signs of the zodiac alternate with carved water spouts.
