Galerie Colbert

The Galerie Colbert is recognizable by its fifteen-meter-wide rotunda, a glass-domed space that serves as the centerpiece of this nineteen-century covered passage. Designed by architect Jacques Billaud and inaugurated in eighteen twenty-seven, the gallery was built as a commercial rival to the neighboring Galerie Vivienne. It features long corridors lined with marble columns and colorful motifs, reflecting the ambitious scale of Parisian shopping arcades from that era.
