The most striking visual feature of the Church of Saint-Sulpice is its asymmetrical west facade. The structure is flanked by two towers of differing designs and heights, with the southern tower remaining notably shorter and less detailed than its northern counterpart. This imbalance persists because construction, which began in sixteen forty-six, dragged on for over two centuries as funding repeatedly faltered.
