House of Nicolas Flamel

The House of Nicolas Flamel stands at fifty-one rue de Montmorency, marked by a stone façade with four storeys and door jambs carved with musician angels and basket-handle arches. Completed in fourteen oh seven, it is recognized as the oldest known stone house in Paris. Nicolas Flamel, a wealthy manuscript seller and scribe, commissioned the building following the death of his wife, Pernelle, to provide housing for the poor.
