Musée Dupuytren

The Musée Dupuytren was established in eighteen thirty-five following a bequest from the celebrated surgeon Baron Guillaume Dupuytren. Located at the Cordeliers Convent campus, the museum served as a repository for anatomical pathology, housing thousands of specimens including wax models, skeletons, and jars containing malformed organs. The institution was created under the guidance of Mathieu Orfila to support the medical faculty, turning a former monastery refectory into a space dedicated to the study of disease and physical anomalies.
