In the central courtyard of the Palais-Royal, two hundred and sixty octagonal columns emerge from the ground. These pillars, crafted from black and white striped marble, stand at varying heights across three thousand square meters of pavement. Created by the French artist Daniel Buren and completed in nineteen eighty-six, the installation is known as Les Deux Plateaux.
