Aux Belles Poules

The facade of thirty-two Rue Blondel is marked by a distinctive Art Deco exterior, dominated by vibrant red tiles on the ground floor. This building was once one of the most famous maisons closes, or brothels, in Paris. Established around nineteen oh four, it operated as a licensed house of prostitution until nineteen forty-six, when the Marthe Richard law mandated the closure of all such establishments across France.
