Theatine Church

The Theatine Church stands out for its saturated, ochre yellow facade and its massive dome rising above the skyline of Munich. Formally known as Saint Cajetan, this building was commissioned in sixteen sixty-three by Elector Ferdinand Maria and his wife, Henriette Adelaide of Savoy. It was a gesture of profound gratitude following the birth of their son, Max Emanuel, who had been long awaited as the heir to the Bavarian crown.
