Muffathalle

The Muffathalle is a large, former turbine hall with an open roof truss featuring visible metal beams, spotlights, and loudspeakers. It is part of a site known as the Muffatwerk, which occupies a position beside the Isar River. While the current cultural center opened to the public in nineteen ninety-three, the history of the location dates back to eighteen thirty-seven. That year, the architect and city planning director Franz Karl Muffat constructed a fountain house here to secure the water supply for the Haidhausen neighborhood.
