Museum Brandhorst is immediately recognizable by its long, rectangular structure wrapped in a skin of thirty-six thousand vertical ceramic rods. These rods are glazed in twenty-three different colors, creating a vibrant, shifting facade that appears to change tonality depending on your distance and angle. Opened in two thousand nine, the museum serves as a dedicated home for the private collection of Udo and Anette Brandhorst, who spent decades amassing influential works of contemporary art.
