Accra General Post Office

The Accra General Post Office is recognizable by its clock tower, which features a clock face on each of its four sides. Completed in eighteen eighty, the building sits on Asafoatse Nettey Road in the heart of the city’s central business district. Its construction followed the colonial government's eighteen seventy-seven decision to move the capital of the Gold Coast from Cape Coast to Accra, necessitating a headquarters for the postal service that matched the status of the new administrative center.
