Accra Central Library

The Accra Central Library stands out as a cubic, modernist concrete building, defined by its use of pierced exterior walls that allow air to circulate through its reading halls. Completed in January nineteen fifty-seven, the structure sits on High Street near the Supreme Court. It serves as the headquarters for the Ghana Library Authority, which oversees a national network that was the first of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa.
