The remains of the Roman fort known as Contra-Aquincum are visible today through glass panels embedded in the ground of Március Fifteen Square. This site marks the eastern outpost of the Roman defensive system that once spanned the Danube, positioned directly across the river from the major provincial capital of Aquincum.
