Klauzál tér

Klauzál tér is defined by the large, nineteenth-century market hall that anchors the square. Before the hall existed, a theater stood on this site from eighteen seventy-two until a fire destroyed it just two years later. Rather than rebuilding the theater, city planners replaced it in eighteen ninety-seven with a permanent market building designed by architects József Kommer and Pál Klunzinger.
