Gutman Museum

The Nachum Gutman Museum of Art occupies the Writers' House, a historical structure in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood recognizable by its two-part design, where a restored nineteenth-century northern wing meets a modern southern addition. Built in eighteen eighty-seven by the Schulman family, the building was one of the first forty-eight homes in the neighborhood. Between nineteen oh seven and nineteen fourteen, it functioned as the headquarters for the newspaper HaPoel HaTzair, drawing writers like Yosef Haim Brenner and Dvora Baron who established the site as a literary center for the emerging Hebrew culture.
