Eden Theater

The Eden Theater stands at the corner of Lilienblum and Pines streets as a piece of early twentieth-century architecture. Inaugurated on August twenty-second, nineteen fourteen, it holds the distinction of being the first modern cinema in Tel Aviv. Its construction on a sandy plot between the neighborhood of Neve Tzedek and the growing city of Ahuzat Bayit was met with initial resistance from local residents. Designed by the German architect Richard Michael, the building featured six hundred folding seats inside and a large balcony area.
