Park HaMesila

Park HaMesila stretches as a long, linear ribbon of greenery, distinguished by its position sunk into a trench below the level of the surrounding streets. This narrow corridor traces the path of the original Ottoman-era railway, which began operations in eighteen ninety-two to connect the port of Jaffa with Jerusalem. For decades, the tracks lay abandoned and overgrown until the city transformed the route into this public space, which opened in stages between twenty-twenty and twenty-twenty-two.
