Park HaTachana

Park HaTachana, or "The Station," sits near the border of Tel Aviv and Jaffa as a restored railway complex from the late nineteenth century. You can pick it out by the stretch of original iron train tracks still embedded in the ground, running between twenty-two low-slung, pastel-colored buildings. It served as the western terminus of the Jaffa-Jerusalem railway, which opened in eighteen ninety-two as the first train line in the Ottoman Levant.
