Kanazawa Station is marked by a massive, thirteen-point-seven-meter-tall wooden gate that stands before the eastern entrance. This structure, known as the Tsuzumi-mon, features two large, spiraling pillars designed to resemble the drums used in traditional Noh theater, a performance art deeply rooted in the history of the city. Behind the gate rises the Motenashi Dome, a vast, shell-like canopy of glass and aluminum panels that covers the plaza.
