Naka Bridge

The Naka Bridge is a pedestrian-only structure spanning the Asano River, easily recognized by its wooden upper framework and dark, traditional appearance. It serves as a vital connection to the Kazuemachi Chaya district, a historic area defined by its narrow alleys and lattice-fronted teahouses. First constructed in sixteen seventy-one, the bridge was once known as the Ichimon Bridge because travelers were required to pay a toll of one mon to cross.
