Takada Family House

The Takada Family House is distinguished by its nagaya-mon, a longhouse-style gate that serves as the entrance to the property. Unlike the earthen walls found elsewhere in the Nagamachi district, this gate incorporates living quarters into the structure itself. The house belonged to a middle-ranking samurai family serving the Kaga Domain during the Edo period. Once part of a much larger estate exceeding fourteen hundred square meters, the residence now occupies a restored plot of roughly eight hundred and ninety square meters.
