Kanazawa Castle Park is defined by its stone walls, which show such a variety of construction techniques that the site is often called a museum of stone walls. These walls, built with reddish and bluish-gray stones quarried from Mount Tomuro, surround the grounds where the Maeda clan governed the Kaga Domain for nearly three centuries.
