Nezumita-mon Gate

The Nezumita-mon Gate is defined by its striking black plaster walls, which are finished in a dark, grayish-black shade of namako-shikkui, or sea-cucumber plaster. This distinctive dark hue, contrasted against the white plaster of the square tile patterns, sets it apart from every other gate on the Kanazawa Castle grounds. The structure is a two-story castle gate that includes a turret built above the doorway.
