Los Muertos Beach is recognizable by the wide stretch of sand extending from the Hotel Marsol to the rock formations of El Pulpito. For generations, this coastline has served as a central hub for the town, though its name—translated as Beach of the Dead—has stirred local debate for nearly as long. While some residents associate the name with happy childhood memories, others point to persistent folklore that the area was once the site of a cemetery or the final, bloody resting place of pirates who turned on one another over hidden treasure.
