Lazaro Cardenas Park

Lázaro Cárdenas Park is easily identified by its extensive, hand-laid mosaic tile work, which covers nearly every concrete bench, planter, and column throughout the city block. Often called the Tile Park by locals, the space functions as a community-driven art installation. Since twenty seventeen, artist Natasha Moraga has worked with hundreds of volunteers to transform the park’s surfaces, applying thousands of individual tiles to create intricate, colorful patterns that reflect the tropical surroundings of the Zona Romántica.
