Plaza Uta el Hamman

Plaza Uta el Hamman is the central, cobbled square of Chefchaouen, defined by its blend of café terraces, shade trees, and the prominent ochre walls of the fifteenth-century kasbah. Its name originates from a public bath, or hammam, that once stood in one of its corners. The square acts as the primary gathering point within the old city, framed by the white and blue-washed buildings characteristic of the surrounding medina.
