The SS Rotterdam is a massive ocean liner distinguished by two slender, side-by-side exhaust funnels near its stern rather than a single central chimney. Launched in nineteen fifty-eight and christened by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, the vessel was built by the Rotterdam Drydock Company to serve as the flagship for the Holland America Line. It stretches two hundred twenty-eight meters in length and represented a significant post-war engineering effort for the city, intended to showcase the finest in Dutch craftsmanship and design for transatlantic travel.
