Rijnhavenbrug

The Rijnhavenbrug is a one hundred and sixty meter long pedestrian and cycling bridge that connects the Wilhelminapier with the Katendrecht peninsula. Designed by Quist Wintermans Architecten and officially opened in twenty twelve, the bridge is easily identified by its slender, industrial steel frame and wide wooden railings. Its design draws direct inspiration from the historic harbor cranes that once dominated this landscape, while a twenty-seven meter section of the bridge can be raised to allow water traffic to pass through the harbor.
