Café De Ouwehoer

Café De Ouwehoer occupies a corner address on Delistraat, distinguished by an interior that evokes the burlesque atmosphere of Katendrecht’s past. The bar is lined with red velvet, dark wood, and paintings of figures that nod to the area’s history as a rough-edged port quarter where sailors once congregated. While the setting feels like a relic of the mid-twentieth century, the establishment itself is a newer project created by founders Wiland Toelen and John Peate to honor the neighborhood's notorious reputation for vice and revelry.
