Jazzcafé Dizzy sits on the 's-Gravendijkwal and is identified by its long-standing role as a hub for live jazz since nineteen seventy-seven. Founded by Joop Hakvoort in a space formerly known as the brown café De Herberg, the venue was named to honor the bebop trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie. Over the decades, it evolved from a narrow, intimate bar into a space recognized for hosting international performers alongside local jam sessions.
