At the head of the Westersingel, near the Kruisplein, stands a bronze sculpture of a man on a stone pedestal. The figure is shown with a straight back and lifted head, wearing only a cloth around his body, which signifies his time spent in a concentration camp. Known as Ongebroken Verzet, or Unbroken Resistance, this monument by sculptor Hubert van Lith was unveiled on May fourth, nineteen sixty-five.
